Custodian

General Description:
The Custodian at Tanglewood is responsible for keeping all assigned offices, restrooms, kitchens and meeting rooms neat & orderly. Duties will include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and washing floors, walls and windows. You will also polish furniture, clean carpets and perform all related work. The schedule may vary seasonally due to occupancy. You will need to work at least 24 hours per week. One year custodial experience is preferred. This is a part-time position.

EMT Paramedic

Golf Assistant

General Description:
Tanglewood golf is seeking an individual with good customer service skills who enjoys working with the public. Duties include opening & closing golf shop, assisting guest, merchandising, operating a point-of-sale system and helping with golf events. Customer service is a priority. Hours vary depending on the season. The golf operation is open 7 days a week. Experience in the golf industry or working with the general public is preferred. This is a part-time position.

Grill Attendant

General Description:
Display your customer skills as a Grill Attendant at Tanglewood. The successful candidate is responsible for assisting customers in a golf course grill and concession area at the Tanglewood Swimming Pool. During the winter, you will assist in concessions during Festival of Lights, waiting on customers, cooking short-order foods, running cash register, cleaning grill and re-stock inventory. Schedules/hours are assigned and may vary. 8:00 am until 8:00 pm seven days a week. This is a part-time position.

Maintenance Technician I

General Description:
This a part-time Maintenance Technician position at Triad Park will perform daily duties including volleyball, softball field and horseshoe pit maintenance and preparing shelters for incoming reservation groups. During the day, you will meet with reservation groups, empty trash cans, clean grills and restrooms, and police grounds for litter. You will also blow off playgrounds, haul mulch, paint, operate front deck mower, and weedeat. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday March through October 1:30 pm until 10:00 pm and November through February 10:30 am until 7:00 pm. This position will assist other park employee in closing of the park on the above mentioned days.

Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from high school or GED and one year experience in building or grounds maintenance work. Must have a valid NC driver's license. A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.

Nutritionist

General Description:
If you like to work with infants, children and women the Forsyth County WIC Nutrition Program has the job for you. We are looking for a self-motivated person to provide services for the Women, Infants and Children’s Program (WIC). Main responsibilities include: determine WIC Program eligibility, determine appropriate food package, issue food instruments, explain the program rules and regulations, make appointments, file, make appointments, weigh, measure and able to stick fingers among others. Some travel between facilities is required. Strong communication skills, customer service skills, able to work independently and efficiently are necessary. Computer skills are a must. Data entry experience (45-50 wpm) preferred.

Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, public health nutrition, or dietetics and one year of nutrition experience; or completion of a ADA approved dietetic internship with ADA Commission on Dietetic Registration eligibility preferred or master's degree in nutrition or public health nutrition with ADA Commission on Dietetic Registration eligibility preferred. Must have a valid N.C. driver's license.

Office Assistant

General Description:
The Department of Social Services is looking for a positive, flexible, well-organized person with the ability to work with the Adult Division team. The successful candidate will provide clerical support for staff of division management, social workers, Medicaid caseworkers and In-Home Aides, all who serve a population of elderly and/or disabled adults. You should possess general knowledge of office and accounting procedures, be able to use correct grammar and spelling in written form and have excellent customer services skills for both phone and reception desk duties. You should also have strong general knowledge of the use of computer applications in a network environment and have proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

Park Attendant

General Description:
Spend the spring and summer working with the golf maintenance staff at Tanglewood Park! The Park Attendant will weedeat, trim bunkers, work on golf putting greens and rake traps. You will be required to perform heavy manual labor and lift 50 lb bags of fertilizer. The work hours are generally Monday-Friday 6:30AM until 3:00PM with some weekend work required. Six months of experience in golf or landscape maintenance is needed. This is a part-time position.

Park Attendant

General Description:
This is a great opportunity to work part-time in an outdoor environment at Tanglewood Park. Duties include maintenance of park grounds by maintaining picnic shelters, cleaning restrooms, weed eating, push mowing, and mulching. Other general grounds duties include volleyball and horseshoe pit repairs, spreading gravel, repairing fencing and other small painting projects. Six months of responsible building or grounds maintenance experience is needed. Hours are Monday through Sunday 7:00 am until 3:00 pm April through November 12 but the schedule will vary. Weekend work is required.

Park Attendant

General Description:
This is a great opportunity to work part-time in an outdoor environment at Tanglewood Park. Duties include daily maintenance of park grounds by weed-eating, push mowing, mulching and other general grounds maintenance duties. You will assist maintenance staff in completing various projects and work orders within the Facilities Management Division. You will also be responsible for operating a variety of small equipment. Six months of responsible building and grounds maintenance experience is needed. Hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 am until 3:30 pm April through November 12, 2010.

Park Attendant

This is a wonderful opportunity to work for Tanglewood Park's Campground/Facilities year round, 20 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for routine maintenance and upkeep of various facilities. Duties will include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and picnic shelters and completing hazard inspection checklists. You may work directly with volunteers to develop and maintain work schedules and procedures. This is a part-time position with benefits. Sr. Social Worker

General Description:
Use your great social work skills to make a difference in the life of a child. The Department of Social Services is in need of a caring social worker to provide social work services to children who have been identified as victims/potential victims of child abuse, neglect and/or dependency and to assist families in developing permanent plans for their children. The successful candidate will complete a thorough investigation of the situation, assess the risk to the child and take appropriate action. You will perform assessments and evaluations, review and monitor progress on set goals and complete required paperwork to ensure provision of service for families. You must understand and utilize correctly all Federal, State, and local laws, policies and procedures relevant to child abuse, neglect and dependency. Most of the responsibilities of the job take place outside of the office in client's homes, courtrooms, and schools. You must be able to observe and report observations and communicate with persons from a range of social and economic backgrounds and a variety of mental capacities.

Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only); Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; Master's degree in counseling in a human services field and one year of social work or counseling; Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience.

Telecommunicator

General Description:
The Telecommunicator is responsible for operating an enhanced 911 emergency system involving a network of complex equipment. You will answer calls requesting emergency assistance and ask callers appropriate questions in determining the proper response needed. The success candidate dispatches fire and rescue personnel and equipment in addition to the appropriate fire department and the amount of response based on computer aided dispatch information and standard operating procedures. You will also dispatch emergency medical service personnel to respond to medical emergencies. Duties also include providing pre-arrival instructions to callers. You must respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Judgment is required in making quick decisions during emergencies. You will respond promptly to mutual aid request from adjoining counties and patch in out of county ambulances to the hospitals. Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated through conferences and review of operations. The schedule is subject to 12 hour rotating shifts.

Graduation from high school or GED and one year experience in emergency services communications or graduation from high school or GED and two years experience in a related public safety field. Youth Center Attendant

General Description:
The successful candidate is responsible for maintaining security and supervising the movement, conduct, work, recreation and discipline of juveniles detained at the Youth Center. Independent judgment and initiative are required, as are tact and firmness in dealing with the public and the youth. Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated by observation and regular conferences.
